Meh, it's not the first debate that's delved into semantics. Stick to the standard terminology, and you'll go far.
Good talking to you

Hi God here
Just to let you know that I DO NOT EXIST. If i did exist (thats a massive if)then im not so sure that id want u all to know about it .You would probably want interviews and all that shit and I am really not into publicity I like the quiet life. Anyway existing is a human condition that I just dont believe in.All that gravity ,atomy, time and space shit is for you mortals. How could i possibly exist if i do not exist within the realms of your understanding of the physics of my existence.Anyway hope thats sorted out any debate you might be having hope you are all well and that youre various interpretations of me have not been causing to much trouble.Im off to take a dump and twiddle my beard for a while.
Take care

I have been a fan of that one for awhile now, I've been able to mess with people by standing right in front of them and telling them I am merely a figment of their imagination. Especially if their views are different than mine then I'll say I am all the things they wish they were but, think they cannot be, thus they created me to be those things. And due to my wording, any responce they give that assumes it is possible that I am telling the truth (why or how questions) I can play it into the game.
However a different approach is able to beat the joke. for example, Unconvertable this was your second post I beleive, thus you have spoken to someone. Also your being here means you were able to manipulate the keyboard/mouse to sign the TOA, thus completing an action that has existance as a prerequisite.
At any rate, probably an off-topic response to above poster, feel free to ignore my little tangent lol.

Hi dear Lord
You could have had a minimum of politness towards us mortals and discover who the hell from all gods you really are :Jehovah,Jesus,Allah,Odin,Zeus,Jupiter ,who for God's sake are you?
Anyway you have not shown all your cards upon your sleeves and have forgotten to tell us about the two wonderfull places where you dwell namely the Paradise and the Hell.
I for myself have already ordered a chair in hell for the next 100 millions of years ,near the nice fire where on can get orgasms from repeated burning.
I invite all ballstrong members of this forum to associate with me by openning a club of atheists in hell.
The list is open let's begin...

I am still thinking about the original Condurum, whether the argument that we are in such a precisely arranged universe suggest an unlikely probability it came about itself, or that after the beginning of the universe, it HAS to be in some form of arrangement, hence the probability of it being as it is now is nothing special, because there has to be a particular arrangement.

The point I've always made in debates about the so-called "fine-tuning" of the universe is that you can always look at it the other way. If the universe wasn't set to these values for life, we wouldn't be around to debate the values, because life wouldn't exist. I can agree that the universe is "fine-tuned" and life can exist, but it takes a massive leap to say "the universe is fine-tuned for life to exist".
Douglas Adams summed it up nicely:
Quote:Imagine a puddle waking up one morning and thinking, 'This is an interesting world I find myself in, an interesting hole I find myself in, fits me rather neatly, doesn't it? In fact it fits me staggeringly well, must have been made to have me in it!' This is such a powerful idea that as the sun rises in the sky and the air heats up and as, gradually, the puddle gets smaller and smaller, it's still frantically hanging on to the notion that everything's going to be alright, because this world was meant to have him in it, was built to have him in it; so the moment he disappears catches him rather by surprise. I think this may be something we need to be on the watch out for.

What about the idea that time is two way, that the universe can go forward and back and in that fashion self-tune itself in some fashion (for intelligence I assume)?

The answer to your conundrum is rather simple. I have 78 cards in this deck. Card a is chosen. Card A appears to be the perfect explanation for this universe. But that doesn't mean card's B, C, D, E, F, G, and onward wouldn't have their own explanation for a different universe that could have occurred.
There is hypocrisy in thinking that since card A happened, and it applied to us... that card B couldn't have happened, and applied to something else. Just because one card was drawn... one should not assume that the other 77 cards couldn't have also been drawn... or that they haven't been drawn.
