I use my CostCo credit card for as many purchases as possible, because I get a rebate every year, to the tune of several hundred dollars. Of course, that bill gets paid in full every month.

Oh, my. I know a few people who were laid off from work during the recession and it was either use their credit card or not eat. The "safety net" here in the US is pretty shitty sometimes.
