This is the general theory of wages and voting preferences in a sentence: The more income you make, the more likely you are to vote Republican ... or to vote, at all.

It's a long-held political axiom, and it's upheld in a recent study by PayScale, the nation's largest private salary survey company. In research shared with The Atlantic, they showed that Americans who make less than $70,000 (about 70% of the country) are considerably more likely to vote Democratic. Those making more than $70,000 are more likely to vote Republican.

Well I think that Trumpists made it more then clear that they would follow Trump all the way - you know like Trump making US into Russa starting with Trump bringing Putin in Washington and handling him over the government, the army, money - everything. They would even sing Russian hymn on sport events, call themselves Russians, salute to the Putin portraits on the wall, they would serve Putin in the army by attacking European countries and even serve on their knees. They find it all more tolerable than having a democrat for president. In fact many conservatives already call themselves Russians and have Russian names.

Popular American opinion makers have unthinkingly embraced the conceit that Americans are fundamentally sensible and decent, and mindful of the greater good on the one hand, and this is one nation and indivisible on the other for more than a century.

The first has never been true and and yet has not been so ostentatious in proving itself wrong in a long time.  The second is also never really true, and I think this country has a substantial chance of breaking up in the next 50 years, or to avoid it so loosen its internal connections it would to all the world like it is no longer one country even in the diplomatic sense.

In our survey, Trump’s approval rating was 85 percent among Republicans. That’s consistent with other polls. On the surface, the president’s support among his fellow Republicans is overwhelming.

But the key to our analysis was to divide Republicans into three groups: those who say they identify strongly with the Republican Party; those who identify as Republicans but not strongly; and those who call themselves independents but say they lean toward the Republican Party. These distinctions, often obscured in media coverage, are important because research shows that the strength of a voter’s partisan identity has an important effect on their political attitudes.

Among strong Republicans, Trump’s overall approval rating is 93 percent, with 78 percent “strongly” approving of the president. The problem for Trump, however, is that these voters make up less than half of the Republican electorate — and 18 percent of likely voters.

Among the larger number of Republicans who identify less strongly with their party, Trump is much less popular. For example, Trump’s overall approval rating among not-so-strong Republicans is 72 percent, with 38 percent saying they strongly approve. Thirty-four percent say they only “somewhat” approve of Trump. Those numbers are similar among independent-leaning Republicans.
