We must de-stigmatize eugenics

RE: We must de-stigmatize eugenics
But as i said the term optimal is totally subjective for generation royal dynasties inbreed because the believed it was optimal to keep their genes pure .And look what happened .

I say it despite the fact that I suffer from bipolar disorder myself. If you knew your fetus had the genes for bipolar, you should abort.

Some of the greatest minds throughout history have had bipolar "disorder." Their unique contributions to human knowledge ought not be dismissed.

Also this...

Reflect on Darwin. We're all mutants. Think about it. All a human being really  is is a seriously deformed single-celled organism. From the outset, eugenics seems like misguided hubris.

I think there may be an argument of semantics and definitions here.

I see nothing wrong with using our knowledge of genetics to screen our own offspring or (assuming we know what we're doing) use it to enhance them. Perhaps the OP is talking about genetic engineering and using the word, "eugenics" in error?
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Bingo. Thing is...it's Alex...so you can't actually be sure that he's not advocating for eugenics as it is, as the word means, in it's deepest swastika laden sense. For better or for worse, he's one of the usual suspects.

Right. He's been asked if he is trolling by someone other than me, and responded, "Maybe". A lot of his posts are 11-foot pole material, and this one is no different. I can't fault him too much. If you'd met me even 20 years ago, I'd likely have presented the same appearance...difference being, I wouldn't bring it up, I'd just go punching it down.

As far as the original topic, I will say this- if a couple has a kid with Down's Syndrome, them's the chances they take in the breeding game; sad but manageable. But when they continue to breed, and more appear, don't they think that maybe they should stop!? I don't begrudge anyone a life, but to just bring a person on as a burden to society because I want breed to like an insensate bunny (because you just know that they aren't footing the bill), just isn't right. Am I a Nazi, now? Huh
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

Probably not.  Personally...I'll never tell people to stop breeding based on whats  "wrong" with them.. It's never not a bad look.  Maybe they're trying to hit it lucky and get a "good" one.

At some point, humans will have to re-engineer some of the population to re-occupy vacant slots in the bio-sphere due to human predation and/or loss of habitat to various currently extant useful species.

I'd say an early variant to be engineered would be a human derived, but non-sentient, replacement for cattle. Meat eating will always be a demand of the populace, and this is how that issue can be fixed.

A human derived 'food' animal would be designed to survive and thrive on a very inferior/subsistence diet and yet remain tasty, nutritious, and tender to eat.

I'd note the nations basements are filled with prototypes even today. Overweight game addicts would have some useful genes for this project. A little work on flavor and survivability, and you'd have it. I also note, they would have to be docile and easy to subdue. Shouldn't be too hard to dial in something very successful.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

It is not too late to abort yourself.

With a little more work, descendants of apes who went down the dead end of growing an enormously wasteful brain can be converted back into vegetables through exposure to the miracle of Christianity.

I would not call what is there between the ears “marbles”.
