A couple of weeks ago I was walking down Lambton Quay in Wellington, one of the main streets in the CBD, during lunchtime and this idiot was walking toward me looking at his phone and obviously expecting people to get out of his way.

Pretty recently, herself and I were sitting in the car after a nice dinner, chatting about what to do next when a person of a certain age was walking along, texting like made, walked right into the front of the car, walked around it. Never looked up even when Ellen put down her window and asked, 'Are you alright?'

I've seen people walk into the sides of buses, walk into and over low retaining walls, with resulting prat fall, and generally be oblivious to their impending death due to completely avoidable circumstances. One guy walked into a baby stroller and knocked it over. The mother took his phone and made it a frisbee. People applauded.
