Big box store computer tech positions are one of the only places a person can get hired with no computer tech experience or skills. Its the entry level position in that game. If things go well for a new hire, they start there, fuck shit up for a few months while they're learning, get to the point where they've got basic level skills and then get a job someplace better. If things don't go well, they start there, fuck shit up and that's their entire career path. I used to make pretty good money fixing the shit those ass wipes would fuck up. Find a local independent shop or freelance tech to do your troubleshooting and repair. 
And check their online reviews. Be an informed consumer.
First world problems, they really suck. Glad your back online.
