I frequently see people banned for being relentlessly obstreperous, primarily because they can't address the topic and have to attack the person on the other side of the argument. This could be avoided simply by not hastily replying to the other person. If one is angry or upset it's a poor time to post.

If you followed a specific person around and immediately disagreed with everything they said, then that would be antagonising;

I had to resort to that once. It was on another forum which I no longer go on. The forum was about the high house prices in the UK. It was very combative and full of arseholes. This guy started stalking me and vociferously attacking absolutely everything I said no matter whether I was debating or being silly. It got to the stage where I was wondering about leaving the forum. But I then thought to myself, why should I get chased off by this little turd? So for the next few weeks the only time I posted was to do the same back to him. He couldn't handle it himself and stopped stalking me.
