Campaign ad: senior citizens mock millennials

RE: Campaign ad: senior citizens mock millennials
If millennials were the only demographic allowed to vote in the upcoming midterm it still wouldn’t change shit.

Millennials aren’t going to stop burning fossil fuels. Millennials aren’t going to stop fighting wars. Millennials aren’t going abolish our economic hierarchy. Millennials are just the same shitty Americans in younger skin.

Other demographics also need to get off their asses and vote.

I love the sarcasm of this one.

Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers.

The way CNN reported the ad, my impression was that it was designed to irritate young people into going out and voting. Sort of like a reverse psychology thing:

Old people: "You young people won't get out and vote. You're all too lazy."

Young people: "Oh yeah? Well, we'll show you how wrong you are!"

And then all the young people get out and vote because they don't like old people telling them what they can or can't do.

Yeah. I mean that’s completely obvious, isn’t it?

Not everyone gets sarcasm, even when it's dripping. I think those old people were doing just that.

I’m not trying to suggest anyone doesn’t realize this but just in case - they’re actors reading a script
