Donald Trump's wife says she "could be the most bullied person in the world"

She got to park her scrawny ass here.

I wonder how many Slovakian refugees can say that?

Maybe I'm just a sap, but I still pity her. People can be imperfect and even racist assholes on their own, and still deserve our pity. Lots of women "choose" to marry various sorts of asshole of their own free will. Most of them don't realize quite what they are getting into until too late. A gilded cage is still a cage. Abuse isn't more acceptable if you don't like the person being abused, or if they are rich.

I don't see how she couldn't get out. Just on all the documented infidelities, she could win many millions in a divorce lawsuit.

Of course people pity Melania because pity for the powerful has become a key tenet of Trumpism. Time and again, Trump and his allies find room to express sympathy for the powerful, the wealthy and the privileged at the expense of their victims. Donald Trump is gradually chipping away at notions of fairness, rules, transparency, and accountability for the powerful and privileged because rules are what keep the marginalized, the poor, and the outnumbered from being destroyed by the dominant in-group. For Trump, who views the world in zero-sum terms, the powerful are constantly being held back from exercising greater domination over the country, and norms of justice and equality are standing in the way.

So we have cases like nearly 3000 people died in Puerto Rico as a direct result of Hurricane Maria, Trump managed to feel that he had been victimized. Or when Trump initially remained quiet when Christine Blasey Ford stepped forward, Trump eventually went on the attack against Dr. Ford and the other accusers, expressing doubt about the allegations and sympathy for Judge Kavanaugh. Another example is Betsy DeVos' plan to put guns in the hands of teachers is essentially a measure to accommodate the NRA but Trump's team implies that innocent teachers and students, who have been murdered in their classrooms, were somehow to blame because they were not armed.

So Melania is simply employing tactics from her husband's team.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Not to mention, as the current First Lady, she'd still have Secret Service protection, so it's not like she'd have to fear for her physical well-being. Or her spawn's if there was a custody battle.

And it's not like she didn't know what she was getting into. Trump wasn't just some unknown quantity. His background and behavior were well known to both the public and especially in the circles they operated in.

Have you seen the nasty things the left often says about her? Same thing happened with Michelle, the right said very nasty things about her as well. Trump is a dirt bag, but I like Melania. I wish people would stop hating on someone just because of the aisle they are on. People say she isn't pretty? She is, she's gorgeous! As was Michelle. First ladies are off limits in my opinion. She has no impact on this nations policy.

I'm neither for nor against Melania, though that may change after I've read the article. I think she should be judged independently of what we think of Donald. All the same, though, I feel she has been something of a let down as a first lady, especially compared to examples such as Hillary, Michelle, and Barbara. And she couldn't hope to hold a candle to real ladies of state like princess Diana.

It wouldn't surprise me to see a divorce in the works after 45's presidency is over with.

T.rump would have ICE on her case in a heartbeat if she tried to get a divorce and he didn't want it.

That wouldn't matter. She has permanent residency status here.
