No. My objection is that it's "doing too much" for the Saudi regime, and proved to sacrifice its own people to support its local allies or to stalk their oil.
In other words; it played the role of the fine mercenary for a long time; and the petrodollar was the paycheck it got from Arab dictators -especially the Sauds-.
Do you want me to count the wars America sacrificed its own marines in to protect Arab dictatorships? protecting the Arabs promised the flowing of oil to supply the petrodollar machine; even if it was estimated by 20% of the global production.
It's very simple in cases like this: the American administration (under Trump) supported a psychopath (MBS) that hacks people with a bonesaw. So stand against him, and the mad fuck will probably order a kill squad to butcher you.
America stood with the monster; and had a long long history of supporting his grandparent; the first "bone saw" of Arabia.
America gave this regime a soul. It gave this regime a spirit inside the USA and in most of the world's capitals.

Wanna know the difference between Merkel and Trump?
Merkel just announced that Germany shouldnt continue exporting weapons to KSA until the exact circumstances of Kashoggis death are figured out (exact quote: export cant take place in the situation we are currently in...). KSA ist Germanys second biggest customer for weapon exports.
Trump said in an interview (i watched earlier this week) something to the effect that KSA is buying weapons from the USA for ca. 110bio$, and thats a lot. He basically argues like a drug lord: If they dont buy weapons form us, theyll buy from russia or China.
Thats the difference.

But Merkel did not increase collaboration and support to Saudi Arabia to the degree of rejecting the "Turkish investigations", "Saudi official statements' contradiction" and the "recording of the incident on tape".
Above all, the German weapons supplied to Saudi Arabia don't include a sophisticated system like Patriot, AWACS sale, UAVs sales, Apachi Choppers' sales... what's next?
Without U.S weapons; Sauds would fall today. I can accept a light armors deal or a "training" deal , But I will never accept decades of such a huge magnitude of support, that involves training and also involves raw weaponry.

No. Seeing as how the questions above cover the broad range of all possible US involvement in this issue it's difficult to see what you want or expect. If no involvement from the US is possible or amenable, then it's not a problem that the US can help you with, or a problem that the US owns. Deal with your murderous dictator, I guess?

I think that you fundamentally misunderstand the relationship between the US and Arab dictatorships. We don't prop them up for their own good, or for yours. American soldiers don't fight for their interests, or yours. Our billions buy us a product, and access to strategically valuable airspace. Every US admin has supported a nutball regime in the persian gulf....because...wait for it.......
.... that's all that's on offer.
The US would likely prefer an ally occupying that space that offers the same relationship without any stupid pr headaches. Know anybody?

Well, supposedly, our alliances with countries like Saudi Arabia and Israel, and against countries like Iran, are an attempt to further stability in the region. YMMV.

Trump is getting more and more involved as a partner in the murder of Jamal Kashoggi.
The asshole knew from day one, and defended his buddies from day one.
He and Kushner will not hide their role, or at least justify their silence

Trump is an irresponsible asshole that deserves to stand in front of court for supporting such criminals. Matter in fact I think he is a criminal too in this crime; the asshole had intelligence reports showing that Jamal was going to get killed.
This man has blood on his hands.
I wish the investigations bring down the Sauds for good; and bring their image to bottom of the barrel, along with Trump and Kushner.

Quote:Trump says doesn’t want to hear ‘suffering’ Khashoggi tape
Quote:S President Donald Trump says he has been fully briefed on an audio recording of journalist Jamal Khashoggi’s murder but does not want to listen to it himself.
“Because it’s a suffering tape. It’s a terrible tape,” he said in an interview with “Fox News Sunday.”
“It was very violent, very vicious and terrible.”
Big tough guy. Wimp-ass motherfucker.

It would be really nice to see the president of the united states -not- get rolled by a tinpot dictator, for a change.
