Trump Claims He Can Use Executive Order to End Birthright Citizenship

Trump Claims He Can Use Executive Order to End Birthright Citizenship
I'm not too surprised that he's pulled this latest one out of his ass. He will have some difficulty overriding the US Constitution without litigation. The American Civil Liberties Union likely has a motion to stay drafted already.

He also lied and claimed that "no other country in the world" allows birthright citizenship.

But if this makes it to the Supreme Court, they could just rubber stamp it.

Let's not forget that it's a Constitutional Amendment that limits presidents to 2 terms (after FDR was elected to 4 terms). I'm guessing he'll try to Executive-Order that amendment out of existence in around 2023 or 2024.

That last is certainly not EO material. DO NOT assume that he's going to be in office after the next election, please, I have a delicate stomach! Tongue

I swear, this shit was an episode of Rocky and Bullwinkle.

Fortunately, it looks like that episode is on Youtube.

Dialogue from the episode (relevant scene around 3 minutes in, and then resumes around 16 minutes in for format-related reasons):
"You see, right now, it's entirely too easy to become an American. This bill's gonna make it tougher"
"What do you mean it's easy, Senator?"
"Well, all you gotta do is be born here. This large loophole has got to be plugged up!"

Shitball knows that he is talking out of his ass.  It's all to keep his "base" aroused and those dumb fucks are too stupid to know that he can't change the constitution by executive order.

In fact, trumptards are pretty fucking stupid about everything.

Even Paul Ryan knows not to go there.

That thought makes me nauseous too!
I made a bet for $100 right after the 2016 election with a conservative coworker who doesn't like Trump that Trump would be elected to a 2nd term. He was convinced Trump wouldn't be re-elected. Gawd, I hope he's right.
My coworker has since moved on to a different company. Might be time to remind him of our little bet, though. Smile

Paul Ryan is retiring and doesn't give a fuck what Trump says now.

If the Republicans retain control of the House of Representatives, the person who will likely replace him in January - Kevin McCarthy - is a Trump hugger and also anti-immigrant.

One of the few things my husband and I agree on "if we win the lottery" is that if the orange fucktard gets elected for a second term we will choose a more intelligent country and move there. I've never felt that way before donny-boy.
Where are we going and why am I in this hand basket?

Not that I approve of such behavior, but enough money can get a certain person greased to do what one wants, if you know what I mean. Sad part is, all those peeps who would do such a thing are Republicans. Big Grin

BoT, I don't think that there is an intelligent country that I could move to that exceeds what I have in the US. It would take a LOT of money to overcome what reserves I have. I'm not rich, but the lottery would have to defeat what I have, plus supply the money for all that is entailed with getting out of durance vile and living elsewhere. I remember looking into moving to New Zealand, and IIRC, it's millions of dollars if you come from another country and want to settle there without having been a paying member of their country first. And then, people my wife and I know who have moved there from the US still come back to the US for a lot of their medical issues. Not saying that anything is wrong with NZ, since these people are really rich.

There's a good possibility I'll immigrate south of the border after my kid is done with college. I can't see myself putting up with things here in the US for the next 40 years or whenever I bite the dust. I believe things can and will get much worse. My kid has Mexican citizenship rights because her dad was born there (I was born here in the US). Her dad has relatives there and I have Mexican-American friends who plan on retiring there. I know some Spanish and it won't take much more to get fluent.
So, yeah, build that wall to keep the crazed USians out of Mexico.

It's called " throw shit at the wall and see what sticks".

i.e. - do outrageous shit, and if nobody stops you - you get away with it.

Changing constitutional amendments will not happen via executive order and supreme court. If the orange chucke-fuck can get the amendment to the constitution off the ground, that amendment must be ratified by the legislatures of 3/4 of the states or by state ratifying conventions of 3/4 of the states.

The constitution simply cannot be fucked with like that. Our founders set it up that way for a reason.
