Yes, and God regularly forbids bad things that nobody would do otherwise if left to their own devices.  Your arguments are laughable.

Most of the world is left to their own devices, and most of the world doesn't have prohibition.

Personally, I find that intoxication helps me to achieve the peacefulness, stillness of mind, sense of communality, and even that all important sense of the numinous alluded to in other threads.  Yet another thing I have in common with my fellow man..even with the religious..who've used intoxicants for pretty much the same thing since the first sapien accidentally swallowed his first cubensis, or his first big mouthful of rancid fruit.

A better argument for your god leaving the world alone is difficult to imagine....lol.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Maybe that's because said world doesn't have a God who imposes silly prohibitions on otherwise acceptable things they might want to do.

Yeah, sure....there's no one in iraq getting drunk right this very second on bathtub gin..you-betcha. Perhaps, since you're so rah rah rah about we fine upstanding americans, you could take a play out of our book and stop listening to your silly god? Prohibition creates the evil, it doesn't remove it.

Yup bathtub gin. Tragically for them the homemade stuff often ends up killing them. Good riddance anyways

I've gotta say, I'm super disappointed at how quickly we've gone from a bright and seemingly moderate muslim poster interested in personal liberty.... to a sharia loving islamist looking for something to sig heil to.

The purpose of personal liberty isn't that there should be liqor shops on every corner and people getting drunk. With every liberty comes responsibility. There are some things that are just plain bad, even a super libertarian society would not tolerate heroin, cocaine and other dangerous narcotics. There's no good reason to allow a culture of alcoholism unless you enjoy waking up in bed with your piss drunk girlfriend's golden shower in the morning.

Yeah sure, lemme sit down while you tell everyone else what their personal liberties aren't, as relayed to you by the teetotaling prude in the sky.
