But seriously, the stated reason why this stupid time change remains in my area is because of children walking to/from and waiting at bus stops. NH, especially, is very rural the further you go north and/or west. Our population centers mostly lie in the southeast portion of the state, between the Merrimack Valley and seacoast. That's where our cities are.

NH towns also tend to have a large geographical footprint for their population. Schools and/or town offices are generally considered the center of town, but there's often no Main Street or anything like that. Everything is spread out, with ample woods in between. So, it's not uncommon for kids as young as 5 or 6 to walk a fair amount to get to their bus stop.

Still, it sucks for me. I suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder, and I've been feeling increasingly out of sorts since the end of September.
