Religious people in the medical field
#11
RE: Religious people in the medical field
Anyone have an opinion on a state-funded psychotherapist with a master's from Liberty University telling her patient: "You are depressed because you don't accept Biblical authority?" Also, she didn't know what the word "heretic" meant, and had to look it up on Google. Maybe this is a personal prejudice, but I think anyone who has earned a master's degree ought to know what the word "heretic" means.

It's kind of you to choose an easy example, about which everyone here will have the same opinion.

She should probably no longer be receiving state funding and she should probably be reported to whatever state agency supervises psychotherapists.

I'd report her ass. I'd also leave Google reviews or those WebMD reviews.

And unkind that shit like this actually happens. Why don't you Google Liberty University, Belaqua?

You might learn that they have a display of dinosaur bones on campus in a display that says they are they are a mere thousands of years old. That is profoundly ignorant. And yet, they allow people to attain credentials that lands people in positions of responsibility.

I know about Liberty University. Why do you think I don't?

The sad thing is, Aliza, she is highly skilled at reading people's emotions, and she is a very tender and caring person. She was just given an education that sucked so bad, she couldn't help someone like me. Most of her clients wouldn't have a problem with her. And (also) she should have learned the word "heretic" somewhere along the way.

Long story short, I blame Liberty University for not unlocking her potential. I don't blame her at all. Nor would it be best to report her.

Lack of disgust in a response to a post about them. They are an anti-intellectual college. How much more reprehensible can you get?

Anti-intellectualism, over-simplification, easy answers...

That's everywhere. Of course it's bad.

Sorry. You are totally correct. I realize that now. Liberty is a good University (if not great). And it doesn't deserve any of the criticism thrown in its direction.

I never said that and don't believe it. Why would you attribute that to me?
