"Well-regulated" meant "in working order" when the constitution was written. It had nothing to do with legislation / legal regulation that we associate the word with now.

I never said otherwise.  However, the purpose was for a militia.  The purpose was not a call for unlimited access to weapons for citizens like we have today.

A militia is just a group of non-professional military though, it is usually made up of citizens. The constitution doesn't specify any size restrictions on the militia, whether it has to be an organized group or whether it could be created on the fly in a time of need. The amendment does however state explicitly that "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed".
