When family invites you to church for the holiday
What do you say? Do you go and observe or just say no?

What kind of church? Atheist church, Christian church, Roman Catholic church? I would probably go if the intent was good, but it really depends why I'm being asked.

I understand your reasons for wanting me to attend but I have to respectfully decline.

You can turn into a dick if/when they don't respect your wishes.

If they already know you're an atheist, does that make it more inconsiderate for them to invite you?

It could be just an offer of inclusion since it’s the holidays. A ‘thank you, no’ should be fine as a response.

Hopefully, there'll be pencils and offering cards you can use to do this:

When my mother was still alive to drag me to church, that's what I did. Though I suspect people will notice if you sing the song while doing it (except maybe if you did it during the hymns). To be fair, I only knew about the song about a month ago (back when Mumkey Jones still had his channel and did it for the Wheel of Punishment.)

Also, it's probably a good idea to not do it with an actual knife; the guy in the video is a champion at this game. Seriously, he was on a game show tournament in Germany and won.

Nope. If they're anything like my christian family they just don't understand. Being inconsiderate never crossed their mind.

They're either trying to be nice and include you, or they're being dicks and trying to get you in touch with Christ or whatever. Gauge the situation and respond accordingly.

It's nice to invite someone to an activity that you know they would not like?

I went with THE gf and her family once.
None of Whom were religious.
She just wanted to see christmas midnight mass.
