Thoughts on these art exhibits.

RE: Thoughts on these art exhibits.
I'm not sure I've ever been upset over a piece of art.

The first one tries to make a point, and is actually quite striking at first glance, even in just a photograph. Whether it makes the point or not is moot to me. The artist put in more effort than most modern artists. Points for that.

Ronald Jesus is quite funny. No idea what it's trying to say or if it's just silly art.

The purpose of art is to provide what life does not.

I had a GF that was an artist. I can't understand paintings, but music yeah.

At least someone thought like me, that ronald should be crucified.

Enough to get your panties in a twist or not?

Edit: Guess I should give an opinion. The noose is tasteless and I don't get the point, unless it's for creating debate and I think we have enough KKK stuff out there as it is.

McJesus is just funny.

Huge difference between art, and bigotry. Without knowing what the intent of the first photo artist is, I cannot say. It is disturbing though.

I kinda get the second one though. My interpretation is that, at least in America, our right wing has abandon the "Help the Poor"  NT Jesus and hitched themselves up to "fuck you I got mine" corporations.

I can remember decades ago the guy who took the infamous "Piss Christ" photo, and Christians called it bigotry. His point wasn't about not believing, but that he saw far too many Christians not being the "NT" empathetic people the Jesus character he interpreted.

But the same misunderstanding has happened with rap artists and thrash metal artists. Far too often people get stuck on an image or a sound and don't bother to dig into the message.
