2019 has sucked a fat one so far

Just need to vent.
Mid January, I lost my best friend and doggo companion suddenly, awfully, and expensively. Tanner passed away, and I was and am still fucking wrecked. I loved that puppo with everything I have. He was like my son, and I miss him so much every day.
Two days after Tanner passed, my grandmother died as well. She was 95 years old and had breast cancer, so it was 100% expected and a bit of a relief as she was in pain, but I loved her.
And today, one of the guys who rents a room from me died in his sleep. He was morbidly obese and a smoker, so it wasn't an extraordinary surprise, but it was still a crazy ass day that started with me getting a call from my other renter that the fire department had bashed in my front door when the guy's boss dropped by to see if he was okay and peeked through the window to see him unresponsive. I spent the rest of the day hanging a new front door and talking with the guy's estranged son to coordinate his picking up his things.

Sorry to see all this shit coming down on you, especially about Tanner. I'd like to think that if the FD saw your renter was unresponsive that they would bring in a locksmith to open the door in a civilized fashion, but I guess maybe it doesn't work that way. Is the FD going to pay for your door replacement?

Not in the state of Tennessee. Homeowner's insurance is supposed to pay for it. But I did it myself and it only cost me $440 (and three trips to Home Depot) which was less than my deductible.

Hey Steel, you deserve better my man. Nothing I can say will make this shitty situation better, but I know you can get through it and emerge stronger for it. You're a splendid chap, and I'd put good money on you having been an amazing presence in the lives of all that you've lost.
