[Serious] What would you want in a church

I'd like to know if a new Church denomination of Christians (meaning followers of Christ and the Abrahamic God) were to start a "new church"

what are 3 things you'd like to see in the church statements dictating church behavior and beliefs / what are 3 things you'd definitely not want to see in the  "rules of the church"?

Rule 1: Never ring my doorbell.
Rule 2: Never call or text my phone.
Rule 3: Never mail me anything or put fliers on my door.

Your internal activities are otherwise of no consequence to me.

Those who can't do, teach..

Those who can't teach... grade papers or the work of greater people

Yeah, I've heard this before.  It's generally used by the wretchedly ignorant as a defense mechanism for their own inadequacies.  Your use of it is no exception.

An apology:

This is a serious thread.  I managed to let Drich bait me into sniping, which is contrary to the spirit of [Serious].  Won't happen again.

For them to observe all applicable federal/state laws and local ordinances? I don't know.
I have zero interest in church.

It's like asking me what I'd want and wouldn't want out of a Furry convention.
How churches conduct day-to-day business is secondary to the fact that I'm a non-believer and have absolutely no reason to be there.

Besides, the bits that I DID take issue with when I was a believer regarding women's role in the church are Biblically justified.
Lol...There's nothing I can suggest that wouldn't amount to heresy.

What issues DID you have issues with regarding women. It's all just a thought experiment so all suggestions welcome.

I assume this is not the case with all denominations, but in my former church and many others, women are unable to sit on church councils and be given any official authority as far as making major decisions are concerned.

However, my former church is perfectly comfortable exploiting the shit out of women's time, talent and skills otherwise. Women (mostly CPA's) do ALL of the bookkeeping and accounting...free of charge, of course. They know the ins and outs about every dime that runs through the church and are free to make all of the suggestions they want, but they are barred from casting an official VOTE when it comes time to determine how money will be allotted and spent.

And the truth of the matter is, churches can easily defer to Scripture to back the practice up. To allow otherwise would be in clear defiance of "the Word of God".
There's no escaping that.
Cause, you know....Cherrypicking's just not an option when it comes to certain matters. Jerkoff

It presents quite a conundrum for sharp, capable lady churchgoers who happen to be True Believers. Their only options are to seek or start churches that adopt heretical stances, forgo organized fellowship, or to simply grit their teeth and learn to accept being second-class in the eyes of the church and the Bible.

Anyhoo....Not my problem.

I too want to apologize for the same disruption. I did not know giving someone a kudo would or could potentially derail a whole thread.

Thanks for the clarification. Some denominations have Women Preachers, some are as you stated. There are tons floating somewhere in between. So to rephrase what I'm hearing and reading between the lines:
1. you'd like to see equality of rights/duties/responsibility between the sexes of believers.
2. you'd like consistent beliefs that are founded on a source and clearly stated and not heretical
3. generally compensate (monetarily or otherwise) members for services provided that are marketable typically paid for outside of church

You're kind of putting words in my mouth, actually. I said that none of this stuff is of any consequence to me so long as no laws are being broken.

I do not believe the inequality between women and men in church can be suitably addressed without defying foundational Biblical principles. According to Bible, women are not to be given spiritual authority/leadership over men in a house of worship. Period.

That part's not particularly subject to interpretation. It's quite clear.

While I can certainly relate to the frustration some of these women feel, as said as much when you pressed me for an answer, I never said that I care enough to want to see things change.
I don't.

My response to a woman who might complain of this to me IRL would simply be one of...

Buyer beware.
Read the fine print, and walk away if it you bothers you that much.
You don't have to be there.

Or I'd suggest they ask themselves why they're there in the first place.
