The relative stability of world trade is basically the result of US meddling. I sometimes think that maybe the relative stability of global trade is perhaps not such a good thing, since it requires us to maintain a massively expensive global military presence and makes it possible for some developed nations to behave like our spoiled children (Europe, I'm looking at you.)

Given that USA is a result of Europe I can't imagine how Europe is the child. If you were an African Colony you would have sayed that you were looking at Africa.

Given that USA is a result of Europe I can't imagine how Europe is the child. If you were an African Colony you would have sayed that you were looking at Africa.

I suppose I would have said that about Africa if ours was a former African colony that had grown to being the adult while African nations behaved like our spoiled children.

America is not bad, but it isn't squeaky clean either. It always depends on what event/policy or political era we are talking about. 

Women gaining the right to vote, ending segregation also happened in America. Defeating the Nazis was a good thing too. The greed of the market climate that lead to the Great Depression was bad, but FDR's new deal was good.
