Okay... but let's be honest, other countries would be shaming us for not helping if we didn't "meddle."

Yeah.......... that's it,......... that was our motive,............. democracy. 

It's not like the US was caught propping up a CIA drug lord for years which we lost control of. But kill one off duty US soldier and bam!

Yeah, it's not exactly a revelation to anyone that the disposition our interactions with other nations have been....mixed.  Complaints in this regard aren't exactly a stunning criticism from the vantage point of reality.  Things always go poorly for someone.  Best laid plans of mice and all that.

No matter what we do we'll be criticized for it because of who we are. Like it or not, we are arguably the most powerful country in the world. That comes with a cursed type of responsibility. If I were ever part of a large corporation or organization in general I've always said I'd prefer to be the second or third in command, not the first. Behind the scenes > being the face of an organization.

There are I think over 3 million penguins in Antartica ..

Here is South Oz we have at least one breeding colony of Fairy Penguins, on Granite Island, Victor Harbour, 50 mile south of Adelaide. They are endangered because of introduced predators, such as foxes and and of course our homegrown gutless wonders who get their jollies hurting harmless, defenseless creatures.
