Fix the stuff you can and ignore the rest. it usually sorts itself out.

Thanks for the suggestions folks! It means a lot to me!
I did receive additional help from someone who goes to a nearby church, but who helps people with ideas to get a job (or in my case, change careers) from a variety of beliefs. And some are secular, and he even said "You have to be comfortable in your own skin." That's true! Right now, I am working a temporary grocery job where discipline is NOT evenhanded, to say the least, and I'm making less then $8.00 I'm 33 and living at home, but there's no reason to be ashamed of that, IMO. This guy said "Don't beat yourself up", and gave me advice about surrounding myself with people who are in occupations that I'm interested in, such as computer programming.

As the above disclaimer is intended to indicate...Nothing is under "your control". Except your point of view.

Dave4shmups I believe taking an another perspective on your life would be an excellent idea. If you can make that temporary grocery job you have now into a permanent one. Then you can have pride that you are making an honest living and contributing something to society (even if it is seemly quite insignificant).

Actually the Stoics considered "God" to be nature, they were pantheistic. Submission to nature is very different to submission to a deity who condemns you to hell if you do not.

I was reading a book on intro to philosophy and they just labeled it 'God' so I will look into that as I'm sure you're probably right.
