In the UK at the time (don't know how it is now) barn owls were pests.  People used to shoot them, trap them, poison them...whatever.  It was simply my good fortune that someone had the foresight to stuff a couple.

Yep, when legal go for it. In the US it's a major no-no. Truce

Found a Le Creuset saucepan for $6. Limited edition enameled cast iron. Love it when people don't know what they have.

Where you are can make a difference... I frequently find Herman Miller stuff ( they' re local) for pennies on the dollar.

I' ve bought mint early Eames chairs ( fiberglass) for $1.

It's a rush..

LOL, "North Woods Law", Animal Planet, Season 3, epi 1, has a bit on illegal owls. The guy who sold it to a pawn shop stole it from the family camp.

The 2 guns above look like kit guns. Hobbyists would finish and reassemble them. Flintlocks. Perhaps CVA .50 caliber Hawken  rifle and .30 caliber dueling pistol?

It's really more flea markets for me (and maybe come antique stores if I'm in Door County), and even then, I don't go very often. And then, I can find some interesting things. At a flea market in Grayslake last year, I got this:

and this:

and also these:

And i almost got a third, at least until I looked closely at it and discovered it wasn't actually the same movie as this:

The ones in the picture were obviously professionally finished. I prize functionality over beauty. The two I got work very well, I've seen them in action. (Neighbor owned them, but he won't be shooting any more.)
