I've had them for about six hours now. I'll update if any better information is provided. Unlikely.

Powder is kept in a horn or flask so it can be poured down the barrel.

How are you going to pour out of the buttstock into the barrel? It 'd be a good trick.

The buttstock compartment is for storing patches, lube and balls.

.....

I thought you told us you know all about guns.

I suppose he could be some sort of superninja who doesn' t understand the most fundamental of equipment of the trade.

But it would be like a commmercial airline pilot not being cognizant of the function of a propeller on a J-3 Cub.....

In the past year, I've picked up a nice piece of pewter by the Keswick School of Industrial Art for 50p and a Peugeot pepper mill for £2.

Together, they are worth north of £200.

Reminds me. About 20 years ago I found a canvas tent at a garage sale. $20. It was stuffed in a big burlap bag - and the poles wrapped together in duct tape.

I figured the canvas was worth it - because this was a big tent.

Upon getting it home - I tried setting it up. Amazingly - it was 100% intact. It was 9 ft. X .14 ft. A "Ted Williams" brand. All of the screens and zippers were in good condition.

In one of the windows - the previous owner had stuck her diamond earvrings - I guess so they wouldn' t get lost.. Worth $250.
