I don’t think you quite understand how an Ad Hominem fallacy works.

"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

When you own it ( or work for whoever does) you get to make the rules.

Pretty basic stuff.

And you can support your position by providing a link to the definition you're referring to...

While i disagree with many things, I am forced to agree by reason with you on this. It's sad because such standards only apply there. It's a downward spiral.

And you cannot deny that some people can say it and others can't, which is privilege at its simplest.

Anyone can say it. There's no law against it. For some people it's acceptable by society, for others it's not.

Like Steel said, ww won't allow anyone to say it here.

If someone (not naming any names) doesn't get off the pot and announce the AF Member Award winners pretty fecking soon, I might just go on an n-word rant and take the consequences.

*shrugs* Happily:

Quote:Ad Hominem (Abusive)

argumentum ad hominem

(also known as:  personal abuse, personal attacks, abusive fallacy, damning the source, name calling, refutation by caricature, against the person, against the man)

Description: Attacking the person making the argument, rather than the argument itself, when the attack on the person is completely irrelevant to the argument the person is making.

Logical Form:
Person 1 is claiming Y.
Person 1 is a moron.
Therefore, Y is not true.

Example #1:
My opponent suggests that lowering taxes will be a good idea -- this is coming from a woman who eats a pint of Ben and Jerry’s each night!

So, USians and their PC stuff. There goes the free speech thing. Except for Drich, that can have all the free speech he wants. For obvious reasons.

I had no idea that some white people felt so "un-free" not using that particular word. What a load of crap; a sad-irony loaded load of crap.

Oh, it is vile to use the nigger word, even jokingly as it was obvious.

But it is not vile to express the wish that people get aids to start believing jn gods, yo promote child beating as in "spare the rod, spoil the child", amongst many things. That is not vile. Well, we know what makes things not vile, I guess.

And I am free to use that word to my friends. OFC I wouldn't use it to a stranger, not by fear, but by simple good manners.

I guess vileness depends kn the price.

If you can refrain from using to strangers out of simple good manners, can you not do the same here, and for the same reason?
