A friend watched the first episode and quit.
About season four I talked her into watching two episodes from any season and if she still hated it I would leave the topic alone with her.
She is hooked. Has watched all seasons at least twice and was quite looking forward to this season.

Yeah I have friends quit as they saw it as to "low brow "
On the other hand I have gotten quite a few people hooked
And yes I want to see the end to see who lives , who dies , And who finally gets the throne ( I know it would never happen but if I could choose Lyanna Mormont)

I am afraid of a disappointing conclusion to the series.
But otherwise I'm pretty pumped for the final season!

I lot interest in the whole GOT thing pretty quickly. Although I did enjoy the bit where James Bond used his lightsaber to fend off the Dementors.
