I know it's awesome . I love the fact the characters are so grounded and though dark still manages to have a lot of heart and some fantastic humor (Tyrion and freaking Bronn as well Hound and Tormund are hilarious )
I agree, especially with the bolded part.
And Bronn better get his fokking castle...damnit.
Indeed just don't give him Harrenhal bad stuff happens there .

About season four I talked her into watching two episodes from any season and if she still hated it I would leave the topic alone with her.
She is hooked. Has watched all seasons at least twice and was quite looking forward to this season.
Yeah I have friends quit as they saw it as to "low brow "
On the other hand I have gotten quite a few people hooked
And yes I want to see the end to see who lives , who dies , And who finally gets the throne ( I know it would never happen but if I could choose Lyanna Mormont)
Seek strength, not to be greater than my brother, but to fight my greatest enemy -- myself.

My sister came over and we watched it twice, back to back.
Thoughts:
An episode of reunions!
Tyrion and Sansa
Jon and Bran
Bran and Jaime
Jon and Arya
Arya and Gendry
Arya and the Hound
Jon and Sam
Sam and Jorah
Cersei and Euron
Theon and Yara
So many!
I thought that the dragon riding scene was a little too typical rom com bonding moment and kind of off tone for the episode but I see why it was included and why it had to be included. I thought it could have been trimmed, edit-wise, and more time given to other scenes.
Sam learning about his brother's death - heart breaking! I can see how Sam would have a harder time sorting out how he felt about his father's death but his brother, as far as we know, wasn't a terrible person and didn't have a bad relationship with Sam. Dany is going to reap what she's sown. Kudos to Jon Bradley's performance on that one.
I also loved the conversation that Sam and Jon had at the end when Jon learns he's a Targaryen, especially when he says to Jon that Jon gave up his crown to protect his people, would Dany do the same? He has shown mercy and spared his enemies, Dany has shown her ruthlessness and naked ambition. Great scene. Well acted.
I loved seeing Arya and Jon's reunion and her smile. She smiled more in this episode than in the last seven seasons!! Loved the sharing of the swords and how Arya is sticking up for Sansa and telling Jon and Sansa is the smartest person she knows. Word! Sansa has taken a long time to get to this point but she has learned lessons no one else has and had insights no one else seems to see (Tyrion believing Cersei).
Also loved Arya and Gendry's sort of flirtatious reunion and her and the Hound's contentious one.
And Jaime coming back to Winterfell and immediately running into Bran LOL
Glad to see Tormund is still kickin' - he's gotta get back to Winterfell so he and Brienne can make yellow-haired giant babies!
Good episode given that it's role is to set up for the rest of the season.
Teenaged X-Files obsession + Bermuda Triangle episode + Self-led school research project = Atheist.
