As I understand it, the show had a kind of unsettling, if minor, effect on regular culture. Apparently, thousands and thousands of people around the world have named their baby daughters 'Khaleesi' or 'Daenerys' since the programme's inception. Since the last installment, some government offices in Europe and the US report a huge upswing in petitions for name changes. Boru

Welp, I just finished the last episode, and one thing's really bugging me:

I can actually remember watching an episode of What the Fuck is Wrong With You where, as a prelude to the other news stories of mankind gone wrong, Nash and Tara laugh at a story that explains that parents are naming their children Khaleesi. And then noting in horror that this doesn't specify that it's just daughters, implying that there's some fucker who named their son Khaleesi. I know some guys might actually be okay with that (including at least one person on this board), but that can't be good for a boy's self-esteem to have a name that means "queen." And here's that episode. Then again, knowing that literally every episode of Black Mirror with some brain-breakingly insane technology with horrifying implications is actually either here already or in the process of being created, this can't be surprising. I call it Brooker's Law: "There is no idea so horrible or boneheaded that it cannot gain a significant audience willing to make it reality. Especially if it’s both."

Okay, I sort of expected a few of the things that happened. There were a couple surprises. Overall I think it ended better than I thought it would after last week's episode.
I still have one big question that will never be answered now...damnit. Or one of the Dragons. I can see Viserion landing well. (heh). I liked the way it ended, i'm happy with it. I do wonder what Arya will find westwards, though we'll probably never find out, though if that ends up in the books we could maybe get some books on it..?

He must be whittling it out of granite or something. I'll just have to think that Arya is off on an adventure and that she can pretty much take care of herself and will be okay.
