I understand the basic premise of rules needing to be in place, but the problem with our society today is that those in charge take their jobs entirely too seriously in so far as rule obedience is concerned. It's kind of like the power of being higher up in the hierarchy gets to their heads.

I’ve literally never seen anyone use the word fresa to put someone down. My favorite use of the word boujee is when this guy talks about how he’d like to use fancy cheese on his Mac and cheese. Wut? I don’t need to explain how this is different from a racial slur. Lol. It doesn’t need an explanation.
Quote:The word fresa is somewhat pejorative outside the fresa circles. Being called a fresa, for example, in a punk subculture could be considered an insult, as many of the people in other subcultures absolutely abhor fresas, and use the term as an insult.

You seem to be confirming my point that terms like fresa and bujee are a parallel to my use of the word nigger, in spite of your apparently cockamamy view that it isn't, and that you don't need to justify your opinion, because, well, you're Losty, and what Losty says is law.

It’s a violation of the prime directive.
This is a complete misrepresentation and misquote of what I said, and your using quotation marks to imply that I said any such thing is an egregious misquote and has been reported as such.
I never attributed that quote to you

So...saying it can be considered an insult, makes it comparable to a racial slur?

Still waiting on your explanation of how the two are different in any essential way, which you apparently aren't going to give, because apparently staff don't need to justify their opinions. That burden is reserved for us peons.
Quote:slur
noun
noun: slur; plural noun: slurs
1.
an insinuation or allegation about someone that is likely to insult them or damage their reputation.
It seems the only difference here is that one class of persons involved constitutes a race, and the other constitutes an economic or cultural class.

One is a racial slur and one isn’t 🧐

I edited my last post to point out that a slur is in fact defined as an insult, the only difference here appears to be that one is based on stereotypes of race, and the other is based on a different class. All you're doing is confirming that this has to do with specifics of race, and not any actual substantial difference.
I guess apparently you're more than happy to confirm my suggestion that people are banned from slack because staff doesn't like them, whether that difference is based upon a political difference (insulting and stereotyping a certain class of people is okay, just not black people), rather than any actual justification.
And you still haven't justified your opinion that my use in this context was not an example of an affectionate term, and not a slur or insult, in the same way that Steelcurtain and Jack's use of the terms fresa and bujee are affectionate in that context and are not then examples of a slur or insult.

Anywho, i think I’m just as entitled to add my opinion as you are. Just because I’m a mod of this forum doesn’t mean I can’t have a discussion without speaking on behalf of staff. Your whole staff don’t need to justify their opinions...seriously gtfo with that bullshit.

Saying fresa is not a slur of any kind in the same way as me calling you a whiny titty baby isn’t a slur. Sure it’s an insult, but it was never used in systematically oppressing an entire group of people.
