RIP thread
RE: RIP thread
I remember telling my psychiatrist I liked Enya. He said he did but that she was rather one-dimensional. It harshed my mellow.

It's amazing the number of rationalizations people make for why they like what they like.

I listen to just about everything, from Sinatra to Slayer. Al Di Meola to ZZ Top. Funk, rock, blues, swing, jazz, classical, metal, disco, dubstep, southern rock, prog rock, psychedelic, groups they defy genres, and almost everything in-between. Just about every decade since music was invited, has it's bright spots.

Don't care for rap, country or radio gaga in the slightest.

I would not consider Hendrix to be metal or death, but he certainly does not suck.

Missed this one:

Spencer Milligan, best known as the dad from ‘Land of the Lost’, snuffed it back in April, age 86.

I love a lot of stuff outside metal. What I don't like is lowest-common-denominator music that presents nothing challenging or thoughtful. A lot of people in the 80s thought Bon Jovi was "metal". I disagreed -- it was run-of-the-mill pop with loud guitars. And plenty of what is considered "real" metal is still crap in my eyes, or ears.

I listen to most genres of music regularly. But I refuse to listen to oatmeal. I listen for musicality, no matter the genre. My favorite bands are bands that do not stick to one groove and milk it.

I love both these takes on a great song:

Both are metal as fuck, although they have entirely different vibes.

Pretty cool that Johnny got Tom Petty to back him.
Disappointing theists since 1968!

Not many American musicians would say no to Johnny C.
