Before, I've likened Russia's relationships with her leaders to a woman who keeps dating guys who beat the crap out of her. From what I've seen, Gorbachev is like the one decent guy who does right by her but she leaves him because the abuse is so normalised that she can't even handle being treated like a human being. Apparently, he's hated in Russia mostly because he wound up being the one behind the wheel when the USSR crashed and burned.

More like reigned over a tourist attraction in the U.K. She was as real a statesperson as William Shatner is a starship Captain.

Vivat Res Publica. Charles will drag the monarchy into his grave unless he dies quickly.

Only bright spot is that there's no way back for that utter shit of a man, Andrew. Unlike their mother at least Charles has the moral sense to see that there's no redemption in him.
