Weathers was part of my cultural life. From about 1979 when I was barely old enough to know the difference between a good guy and a bad guy, to his performance in the Mandalorian. A massive loss.

My impression of Bruton was that of a political system famed for creating small men, he was truly a pygmy among giants.

*I once refused flat out to shake his hand. Was at a hotel in Limerick where I was waiting for a toastmasters meeting and he was opening kne of Celia's salons.

^I also once planted a tree with the first Irish Nixon, Charlie Haughey, as part of the opening of our local community hall when I was 6. Needless to say, I did all the work, while he took all the credit.
