Wake Up Dead - Megadeth

especially when it hits 2:00, I got my head banging, hair on the back of my neck standing up, and I COMPLETELY enjoy playing it on my guitar along with the album.
Their newest album kicks ass..about time they went back to their roots.

I don't know what it is but I can't seem to get into "classic" metal. I hate it but I don't know why...

I don't usually listen to Metal very much, what metal I listen to is on the Progressive side such as Tool and Mastodon.

Everyone has their tastes. I personally dont care much for the "nu-metal" and "black metal" myself. Being a musician I would say that you probably dont like "classic" metal becuase they focused more on dynamics instead of flow. Dynamics being: starts, stops, false stops, reversals, strange and interesting key changes, buildups, and bridging. Flow is more about going along with the drum beat and keeping a steady rythm going, much like Korn, Seven dust, and Disturbed does.
Being a musician I like both styles, but I personally prefer good dynamics as I can appreciate the talent and complexity involved in it...such as Wake up dead from Megadeth. It is very complex and I think it speaks volumes of the artists skill.

Well I have many favorites in the metal genres, bands like Empyrium (disbanded but have other projects like The Vision Bleak, Noekk and Sun of the Sleepless), Dimmu-Borgir (No matter what hardcore black metal fans saying about them still my No. 1 BMB), Graveworm (love the "A Dreaming Beauty" song a lot), Megadeth, Amon Amarth, even Within Temptation and Xandria and many more just listed my all time favs. Like Anathema a lot too although they deviated from the metal category to atmospheric rock.
So I guess if I'm going to least my favorite songs ever it will be something like this:
1. Void of Silence - Grey Horizon (MPH MMIV)
2. Empyrium - Ode To Melancholy
3. Dimmu-Borgir - Mourning Palace
4. Graveworm - A Dreaming Beauty
5. Megadeth - Trust
and last but not least Riverside - Panic Room
In the deep forest by a yearnings side
Is a flower growing in the still of the night.
Moonlit night with her would blend - if you break her...
Your life must end!
