Is a higher level of thought possible?

Is a higher level of thought possible?
When we think about a more intelligent being that us, we think about about a being who is more capable in terms of reason, faster and better ideas, better comprehension, etc. Basically a human brain on steroids.

But I have been thinking, is it possible to have a higher level of reason/thought?

Imagine 2 planes: one in which we humans are. On that plane more dumb creatures (animals) or smarter (aliens) exist. But on a higher plane, there is a creature who has a completely different level of reason. One in which is not only smarter, but also one in which its ideas and thoughts are superior. By this I mean of a different nature.

Do you think it is possible? And if it is, could we perceive it?

Hello! Big Grin

So... as Neil Degrass Tyson once pointed out in a talk. It is interesting tht HUmans and CHimps are really similar genetically.

However something in our development allows for our neurons to form connections that they don't seem to be able to.

So... Chimps can master simple tools and create simple colourings 'Art' if given the chance and tools to do so.

Perhaps a 'Higher' inteligence is simply able to put together concepts and 'master' learned things faster than us.

While we take twenty or so years to develope. They master higher level calculus, physics, chemistry and engineering in pre-school.

Then, as a different level/end of the example, as Michael Stevens, creator of 'V-Sauce', points out. We Humans do something fundamental and simple that our close gentic cousins the Gorillas and Chimps do not seem to do. Even when taught sign language and hence are given the intelectual tools to communicate concepts from their world into ours.

Humans ask "Why". We look at things and we often wonder the 'Why' such a thing is. How it came to be. Where it might be going.

Perhaps the differences between 'We' and a 'Higher' intelligences might be just as simple a difference between how we see/look at/infer reality and how different they do.

Cheers.

Not at work.

The higher plane of thought wouldn’t be higher if we can see it can exist, (see it can exist as oppose to fantasizing about its existence without concrete ideas of how it can exist)  Because if we can see how it can exist then we can define it and take steps to reach it and operate on it.

So it wouldn’t be higher any more.

It's an established fact that there are different levels of thought.

The average 21st century human thinks on the 6th Mind Level.

Superman thinks on the 8th Mind Level.

Mr. Mxyzptlk thinks on the 12th Mind Level.

My thinking during waking is much better than my thinking during dreaming, but I don't notice the difference when I'm asleep.  I still think I'm awake.

Thought is a continuum of depth rather than a thing of clear stages.
