I've heard that NK would attack Sol if something happened, but it should be fairly easy to evacuate a city before a war started. And if the US can't defend SK in case NK attacks, then what good is the alliance anyway?

Seoul has 10 million people and a population density of something like 40 000/square mile.  Evacuation would be all but impossible. For comparison, New York City has about 25 000 people/square mile.  How would you go about evacuating NYC in the event of a sudden attack?

Ok, I didn't know it was that big. For any city, I guess I'd just arrange public transportation to move people from the city to a safer place. But 10 million is a lot.

We can't be certain what said medias is true.
They did already announced that people were executed in NK when it wasn't true.
We should being honest and admit average Western citizens can't know thing for sure about what's happens in Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
We haven't the capacity to get the last version of theirs judicial code (Criminal code , Procedural Criminal Code , Civil Code , Procedural Civil Code etc...).
If we haven't the capacity to get the last versions of theirs judicial code we haven't the capacity to know whats happens there because if you can't get something that is usually easy to get (You can get easily the judicial codes of the majority of countries in the world but not for North Korea) you can't get easily others info.

I don't think NK was ever a significant threat.  I was making fun of Trump's claim that it is no longer a threat.

That is what is so scary about Trump, far too many idiots buy his bullshit.

But I would not say NK isn't a threat. I am quite sure trying to argue that to South Koreans or Japanese would get you a tilted head and "WTF" look.

Even without nukes they do have a large army, and plenty of local rockets that could flatten Soul. The Korean War was long ago, but even then that war went up and down the entire peninsula for 3 years. 

A war with North Korea would be devastating, and would most certainly have a potential to drag the world into a nuclear war. NK isn't a direct threat to mainland U.S. right now, but even a regional conflict could be a domino.

I was recently on a South Korean Warship and it made ours look dainty and under armed. It bristled with weapons and armour, even its supporting tanker looked fearsome.
