Every frickin' kid will say the same thing. They will believe they are more mature than their peers. They will think that their experiances are more unique than others and made them mature faster than the other kids around them. Chances are they are not and they didn't. You, and they, are not as special as you lead yourselves to be.

Not every kid, but many will. This same egotism can be seen throughout the lives of most people.

As it happens, maturity is both a very difficult creature to measure and also shaped like a bell curve when the populace is graphed. There are many that are of 'average' maturity ('for their age'), there are somewhat fewer of moderately below average and moderately above average, and then there is those rare few that end up being horribly immature or impressively mature.

Experiences being unique does not help with the rate of maturity... that would be the experiences coming more rapidly and bearing greater weight.

And there is the truth of the matter. Does anyone here actually believe this older fella wants this girly-boy for anything else other than for his sexual perversion? I don't believe he does. A 'fuck-toy' (such eloquence) is all he is after. He is playing the 'relationship' card to lure him in, in the same manner many of us men use that same card with women, get our way, and disappear. Didn't change the answer to the question, "Am I to young?", no, you are not. Sixteen is legal.

I certainly don't think that he is after anything else.

Haha, no summer was talking about how women are viewed. My comment was not directed at anybody, it was simply directed at the fact that so many people feel like they need to look like other people to be sexy or pretty because some people act like everyone should be Malibu Barbie.

I have to admit that I am an average looking person with average physical attributes, so I don't suffer so much from body image problems as other people, but it makes me uncomfortable when someone feels bad because someone else thinks they should look different.

Probably not.

Not all people can exercise. Most people can practice basic hygiene, but hygiene really has nothing to do with being overweight or "chubby." Let's face it, most judgmental people don't look at an obese person and go, "Boy, they need to get exercise and practice healthy living." The sort of stigma I am talking about is that which typically goes something like, "Wow, what a disgusting fat ass." Stigma doesn't have to be negative (I mean, insulting). So why is it that is often the case? I think it is because some people are rather full of themselves and expect other people to be like them. I realize that expecting someone to exercise is still a little condescending, but it is far healthier than just writing someone off as a fat ass.

Not necessarily. There are people who cannot exercise enough to make a difference, medically speaking. There are also people who are overweight because of medical conditions. Of course, this isn't usually the case. Overeating tends to be the problem, but does that mean we should be judgmental about it? I don't think so. I could give a rat's house about a person's weight or appearance (unless they look like Ed Gein).
