I do agree with you to the degrees of specialization.
It's an interesting idea... and never even thought about it until now (and i worked hard to find two general branches of science that would be nearly impossible to combine >_>).
I suppose given enough creativity, one might turn many dual specializations into a unique blend perhaps inaccessible for those solely proficient in either field.

Or in a rush ^_^
When I know fifteen hostile ninja commandos are making their ways through the sewers at this very moment, and will arrive in the east basement of the mansion within a minute, and all I have to communicate this fact with is a text to someone's phone... it would be a critical mistake to thumb out "Fifteen ninja commandos incoming east basement of mansion by way of the sewer system". Hell, they'd be through in the time it takes me to write that... and probably killing everyone... with bananas.
Far quicker and more useful to type out "Inc 15 ninja E-base via sewer".
Time is of the essence.
Time is money.
Time is the difference between being shot in the head and having a shot never go off.
Respect time, and his children, for they will grant unto thee many bananas.
These are the proverbs of time... and you should take the time to commit them to memory should you ever find the time before you run out of time and die.

Where the dear and the strangers can play
Where sometimes is heard a discouraging word
