Maybe you should spend more time obsessing over how weve been locking a bunch of dads up and less time wondering about what they do with their dicks?

I spent 15 years doing that very thing. every free moment i had was spent in the inner city youth program or as a big brother. a few kids made it out and did indeed become hard working parents. it's heart breaking to see so many with so much potential loose their futures to free sex and addiction. I've been in hundreds of homes spoken with hundreds of single mothers (grandmothers most of the time as mom was absent as well) and thousands of kids in that time. out side of the really tragic raped as a baby or born addicted to crack ect.. the formula was always the same. mom trying to raise several children by her self works all the time or is absent for one reason or another and the kids fend for themselves. Just with the little structure the men in our church brough in just a few days a week made a huge difference and when we did our week long camps with black men from the church the first few days was all gang related nonsense but after two days they all became kids. they all cry everytime they where to go back home. some begged to go home with us... At the end the white men stepped in.. as a result it took longer for the kids to come down from their neighborhood self imposed divisions, but again by the end of the week no one wanted to go home and everyone was in tears. Then the last two years it was me and my best friend who flew in from DC (he is a black man studying to be a doctor of child phycology at the time, this program effected him so much it help him to decide what to do with the rest of his life.) we where the senior counselors and the rest where made up of high school kids from our youth program. Again the same result kids begging to stay longer and pleading not to go home.. because with in a day they where all sucked back into hood life again.. fighting stealing doing whatever to survive.
The point is out side help is only that... it is help it can never replace the support and structure built into a family. a family a mother and a father must choose to provide in sick ness and in health in poorness and is wealth till death they do part.
So how can people know the importance of family when pop culture says it is out dated and not important and up holds those who live a free sex life? Unless someone who knows and has experienced what a broken home does on a mass scale speaks up when the subject is challenged.
