Trump under fire for racially-charged tweets against congresswomen

RE: Trump under fire for racially-charged tweets against congresswomen
I know people who voted for the chump because he was going to "shake the place up". They didn't anticipate how badly that was going to go. In spite of my liking for things to be done better, it was obvious that the chump wasn't the answer to getting that. Only some of them regret their choice.  Huh

Those same people lied en masse about who they voted for when the exited the booth, lol. They knew it was a snake when they picked it up.

The most dangerous lie of this entire presidency, in the long run, is going to be that it was an honest mistake.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Gotta love the Snake metaphor. The lack of self-awareness that Trump exhibited when he latched onto a song that so fits his agenda and MO and deciding that it's immigrants who are the snake (and not him) is simply epic. If I had the video and audio editing skills (and the time to research potential clips), I'd make a music video of "The Snake" and cover it in some of Trump's more disgraceful moments (which, that said, may not lend themselves to being reduced to silent video clips) and when the time comes for Johnny Rivers to sing "You knew damn well I was a snake before you took me in," the song stops and we hear Trump's own voice saying those words.

"Let me in, tender woman, let me in, said the snake..."  I'm familiar with that song, because my mother listened to that sort of tuneage when I was a kid. I hated it.

Full disclosure, I think I only discovered the song about a year ago, around the same time I saw Johnny Rivers live with Jimmy Webb. Then I found out about Trump's appropriation of the song, and how much it fit, not the immigrants he derided, but himself.

The problem here is the media is reacting to this. That is exactly what Trump wants. We all know he's a racist jack-ass. I know I'm in the minority here, but perhaps if the media didn't make this a top headline; Fat Donny might stop. The sooner we get this fuckhead out of office the better.

Sigh, I've heard this many times over the years, although it's not always included race. I'm very disappointed that more republicans have not denounced the comments. Apparently retaining their elected position takes priority over principles. Maybe it's time for them to resign.

For all the talk about staying in the center, it's a wonder we don't just split the parties into left, right, and center. Well, I know the actual reason is that the two major parties really don't want a successful third party springing up to attract all the independents of the country.

This is nonsense. They do not want Castro's Cuba or Stalin's Russia.

This is a 40 year old tactic starting with Reagan that the GOP has used. "Unless you give billionaires everything they want all the time, you are a Communist oppressor."

Reagan successfully  busted the air traffic control unions, and that started the decline of worker's collective bargaining. If anyone is trying to make us look like China, it would be the GOP.

"Liberal" means open, pluralistic. The term "conservative" is anything but the way the party sells that word. China is not a liberal state. It is not politically pluralistic. In China you keep your mouth shut and tow the party line. China is a CONSERVATIVE state, not a liberal state.

China is a closed state, but it is also a capitalistic state at the same time. It's economy works on exploitation of workers, and between the United Sates and China we are two of the biggest polluters in the world.

There is no "center" on economic issues. That left with Reagan. The only thing you can blame dems for is allowing the GOP to pull both parties to the economic right. It also didn't help that the middle class and working class as voters gave up when Reagan set up that decline.

Ya know...I think you might be onto something here.  If Trump wasn't getting constant attention he may find another way to amuse himself.  He thrives on media attention and I don't think the details matter as long as he is the focus.  He's like a toddler in so many ways.  It's bad that if he's elected again he won't grow out of any of it.  He will still be a screaming, foot stomping, temper tantrum throwing, look at me toddler.

Read this. Just goes to show you the Right only gives a shit about minorities when they need them for votes. But once they are in power they don't really care
