Is God a logical contradiction?
RE: Is God a logical contradiction?
I'm using it in the terms described by objectivism, in context of a stolen concept - which you asked about. The use predates it's selection as the term which would one day refer to biological inheritance, and is the reason that it was selected for that term, in content.

It just means origins. A stolen concept is when one proposition used to reject another has the same origin as the other. Does that help?

(I can lay out a neutral case that typifies the issue, if it doesn't or you'd like to know more)
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Just explain in clear terms where the stolen concept is here. I've argued in various ways that behavior is insufficient to know an animal is conscious. To me that's basic psychology; what's the problem?

When the justification of position A, objecting to or rejecting a position B, contains assertions of fact which can only be true if B itself is true.

The stolen concepts are "facts of B".

Replace A and B with their corresponding terms. State your argument in clear terms; where's the stolen concept?

RE: Is God a logical contradiction?
Sure, we'll do that neutral case. Let's be clear here that this is not my argument, your argument, or our argument. It's a description of an invalid form that can manifest itself over a broad range of formal and informal fallacies.

Let's use A for fatalism
Let's use B for determinism

A fatalist states that, no matter what, x will happen. A determinist states that many "matter what's" determine what happens. These positions are in direct contradiction. If our hypothetical fatalist asserts facts of B as a justification for objecting to or rejecting B, this is a stolen concept.

I've asked several times to be shown where the stolen concept is in our consciousness discussion; but you keep reverting back to repeating the definition. Is this intentional or are you not understanding what I'm asking?

You asked for me to describe a stolen concept in simplest terms. Have we succeeded there, do we know and understand what we're referring to and looking for in a more specific discussion of our conversation?

I haven't asked you to describe a stolen concept.

You did ask what the fallacy of a stolen concept is, I and others have taken considerable time to explain it to you.  I'm just making sure we're clear on what it is.  Do you grasp the concept, and do you understand why it's a logical non starter?

I asked another user, not you, about it on a topic that had nothing to do with consciousness. What's your application of it here; that's all I want to know.
