The pedo's are not going to come forward on their own, look at the priesthood.

If they did come forward then they'd need to be isolated from contact with potential victims. I've not read/heard of any effective treatment or deterrent. You could consider castration but even that is not acceptably effective.

You could implement a discipline (or part of a discipline) that could tackle the problem of pedophilia in school. For example what it is, signs, how it is not Okey to engage with someone that can't really perceive or give consent and than encourage possible pedophiles to come forward. Maybe not all of them will engage in abuse but even if they watch pornographic material with children creates a market for such a thing.

Even those who have those desires and badly want to not feel them and go out of their way to avoid offending? I'm not saying I think the Jared Fogels of the world are likely to benefit, but there's still a tantalysing chance we might be able to find the next Jared and fix him before he can offend.

Yes, even them. It's a disease the world should be rid of. If we could do it through genetic engineering, even better. That is, if such a thing is even hereditary, though I have to imagine that some aspect of it is.

There is no "solving the problem" for victims. Hopefully, after years of processing what they went through and extensive psycho-therapy, they can learn to deal with their trauma in a way that allows them to live happy, productive lives.

As far as reducing the number of victims; educating parents and children alike on spotting these people and their behaviors is a start. Also, if we began killing them off, they can't hurt any more children, can they? Kind of hard to be a pedophile when you're dead. Hard to be anything when you're dead, actually.

How is it disgusting? It was pointed out that not all of them engage physically, you still have the problem of the virtual environment. 
But you can have it locked, it seems that we can't get past of the taboo and we are not getting anywhere.

People who admit to being pedophiles and seek help without offending surely should get the help they seek without stigma. People who offend are beneath any empathy, in my opinion.
