"Don't take away people's hope"
#41
RE: "Don't take away people's hope"
I said I don’t care what people think, nothing about what they do.

This has nothing to do with my mother or what I think about deathbed religion. I’ve never been interested in changing people’s minds. Actions, sure.

I hope my mother doesn’t become something people mention when they’re trying to make a point with me. That isn’t going to fly.

Death is a point all of us have to face. That was my point.

It is still impossible not to care about what other humans do. If you want to argue greater or lesser degrees, I can buy that. But the planet isn't a indefinite utopia where everything is ice cream and puppies.

I care what a Catholic thinks or a Muslim thinks or a Buddhist thinks or a Hindu thinks or even a fellow atheist.

I do not care in my personal life when the people I care about are in stress, at that point I am simply there for them.

I keep saying that I never mentioned not caring what people do. I said I don’t care what they believe if it doesn’t affect me or others. I don’t know why what people do keeps coming back up.

"I don't care what they believe if it doesn't affect me or others"

I got that, I did not miss that.

As well intended as the liberal atheist or theist wants that to be true, and in a perfect world that would be awesome. But the truth is, all humans act on their beliefs, regardless of position. If you had your way the Jets and Dolphins wouldn't exist. If I had my way the Cowboys and Eagles wouldn't exist. But reality is that the NFL and NBA and soccer and Cricket and Wimbledon and NASCAR all compete for viewers. Just like religion. just like politics.

What? I wouldn’t want to poof an nfl team out of existence. I could give you endless examples of thoughts people have that will never, ever affect anyone else.

I think without non-believers; a believer will have a hard time coming up with bad arguments and examples that led the non-believer to disbelieve.

Most -if not all- arguments said by non-believers are refutable. The more somebody tries to criticize religion, the more they expose the false religions yet make the true one stand obvious.

That’s because only those who are both stupid and delusional can possibly sink so low as to become a believer.

So we plug our noses....and hey, nothing wrong with that.

I mean if that makes you happy. If I believe that I should wipe my ass exactly seven times per shot or a wizard will eat me, it will never, ever affect you. I mean, that statement is completely false.

A person who has ticks and compulsions does effect the people they live with, but that’s largely an aside since religious beliefs....what we’re talking about, aren’t exactly ticks and compulsions.

So, sure, if we were talking about believing that you had to wipe your ass seven times, it wouldn’t be completely false, but false enough, I guess. Since we aren’t, it isn’t.

-and you knew that, lol.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. Not true at all.

We all have to die - but many don't face it.

You don' t face it if you die in you sleep - or get killed suddenly - with no warning.

Not really; just one question is enough to take every non-believer to square 1: "what the hell started the big bang?"

We can rephrase the question by saying: "where the hell did the singularity originate from?".

Religion is a mere scenario. While each theist believing their scenario is more correct, a non-believer is just another person rejecting the scenarios provided by the religious.

In the end; neither you nor me have seen a thing. But both of us are taking one hell of a leap of faith.
I believe in a higher being; you don't.

So let's wait for death to knock our door then we will see who's right.
