Guns and suicide

I only know one person (personally) who offed themself with a firearm. I know two people who did it (a 15 year old girl - neighbor and a 35 year old housewife) - by sticking their head in a plastic bag.

Seems there's more plastic bags than guns...

Well, smoking kills more people than alcohol and guns combined, but we are speaking about how can we reduce gun deaths. You can't deny that guns are the most efficient way of killing yourself. If you would do a study that compared methods of ending ones life, I think you will find that guns are at the top end when it comes to succes rate (but nobody will do this because a lot of the US funds that are going in to psychology are used to research homosexuality, although study after study coroborstes what we already know. A waste of resources if you would ask me). 

What you should think about is how can you prevent suicides or crimes related to guns, anyone can lay blame. 

I know that you think that guns can protect you but most military powers today could end civilians owning guns without much effort.

It has been sayed for a lot of times already, it is not that guns make people want to commit suicide, it is about the easiness of commiting suicide using a gun. 

If you really want to have a discussions about this using statistics, you should use statistics about failure rate. And even then it is clear that using a gun to commit suicide has a higher rate of succes than let's say hanging.

And now there’s a huge backlash against plastic bags because we realise they’re bad.
