Technically speaking

RE: Technically speaking
It's = it is

Its is the possessive pronoun. Consider the other possessive pronouns as reference. Do they contain apostrophes? No. Same with its then.

I hate it when people use “begs the question” when they mean, “this brings up the question”. That’s not what it means.

People will insist on calling it 'The Bayeux Tapestry'.  It's not a tapestry. It's an embroidery.

'Hot water heater'.  It's a water heater.  You're heating water, not heating hot water.

"ATM machine" is a redundancy.

Boru

I had a solar panel on the roof that fed into the water heater.

The water in the pipe in the solar panel would reach 190f on a sunny day - but the heater only heated to 125f.

So in effect the water heater was actually a hot water cooler.

Go figure.

Post your nits you pick here.

I'll start.

What we call "parallel parking" isn't.

If you use the standards of engineering (especially electrical) it should be called "series parking".

What you do in a big parking lot is parallel parking. Unless you consider more than one row - and then it's series parallel.

Think

Yes it is. You're parking parallel to the flow of traffic.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.
