Why Red Flag Laws Won't Work.

No, that won't fix everything but it's a start toward some standardization of the laws regarding sales and ownership.

I don't own a gun because I have nerve damage that affects my shoulders, arms, and hands and therefore I know that I am not comfortable with my ability to handle a loaded weapon.

People who don't know you (the global you) don't know your history so they can't really be expected to make a judgement call on you if you are not behaving erratically.

The truth of the matter is that how 'normal' a person has been up until the time of purchase and at the time of purchase is no guarantee that they will always be sane human beings.  Mental breaks can happen during times of extreme stress even to people who have never shown aggressive or violent tendencies.  Brain injuries, other neurological accidents or injuries can't be foretold.  Some mental illnesses have age ranges when onset begins.

We either remove every gun from everyone that we possibly can or we find a crystal ball that see into the future and predict unstable behavior.

We know...we know...your father shot a gun while you were in the house.  You throw that out there when blaming CEOs and the NRA isn't working for you.  It was obviously very traumatic for you.

As has been mentioned and you refuse to hear...the CEOs of firearm manufacturers do not enact laws.  Do they have influence, no doubt...but they do not enact laws.

STILL NOT THE POINT

America has for far too long been sold the bullshit utopia that "no record" means "nothing will go wrong after a legal buy".

THAT IS NOT THE CASE....

Most injuries and deaths START from a legal purchase.

It is a myth that most injuries and deaths happen from a house or gun shop broken into, or from a straw purchase.

MOST INJURIES AND DEATHS from firearm use START from a legal buy!

Get some help Brian before you stroke out.

What "help" do I need?

Sorry if it bothers anyone that I point out the fact that firearms are made like candy and handed out like candy. NOT SORRY!

I am sorry if it offends firearm worshipers if I tell them they are fucked in the head.. NOT SORRY!

My blunt condemnation for our free for all "arm more" market, still is not advocating the free for all sales bullshit  attitude that leads to an average of 100 dead per day.

AND AGAIN, if our current laws worked the way the right claims, then why is America #1 in firearm violence among our allies?

Sorry if my bluntness offends anyone. But I don't give one flying FUCK!

I am not advocating a free for all hand them out like candy.

I am not advocating a ban on 100% of all firearms.

Saying that we need better vetting at time of sale isn't oppression.

I am not Isis, I am not a MS-13, I am not Gotti, I am not Tony Montana. I am simply a SANE person that knows firearms are NOT FUCKING CANDY!

AGAIN, please FUCKING THINK...... If you would not sell me a firearm, if you owned a shop, EXPLAIN YOUR REASONING......... But do know, whatever rightful explanation you give, OUR CURRENT LAWS WOULD NOT PREVENT ME FROM BUYING ONE!

Two sentences into this diatribe and it's 'handing guns out like candy'.  You know - that thing you told OLB you never say.

Your bluntness is the least of the issues...your instability is.

Ok fine so " instability" is whom you'd sell a firearm to?

Good for you..... So the rubber room Hilton is a good monopoly to mix with the firearm industry?

I am unstable?

So would you let an "unstable" person pilot a passenger jet?

My BLUNTNESS is nothing compared to the pain the dead of Newtown/Pulse/Columbine/ElPaso/Dayton/Parkland ect ect ect..

Check your fucking priorities.

Am I stable or not?

If I am stable, sell me a firearm right now, no questions asked.

If you think i am "unstable" then you'd be bat shit nuts to blindly sell me one because of "no record"..... AND TRUST ME, I HAVE NO RECORD that would prevent me from buying a firearm.

You are not stable. That's been established.

Nice dodge on the 'handing guns out like candy' thing.

FINE

And again, I am quite sane, but if you insist.

YOUR LOGIC FUCKING SUCKS

If you claim I am not stable, then why the fuck would you sell me a firearm on site just because of "no record"?

You, "Brian is nuts"

Me, "Ok, but can I buy a firearm?"

You, "Have you ever been convicted of a violent felony?"

Me, "No."

You, "Ok, here is a Ar-15 with a banana clip, 10 minutes after a computer check."

SORRY Dumbass, you can't have it both ways.

You cannot call me "crazy" then say that our vetting system works, if it would not prevent you from selling me a firearm.

Am I stable or not?

And I'm asking what form this vetting should take.  What specific changes would you like to see in the system?

THANK YOU, now we are getting somewhere.

It really DOES TAKE PLACE at the top, with the CEOs actually caring about how many they make and where they end up.

My specifics?

1. Bans on big clips

2. Bans on weapons of war.

3.  WAITING PERIODS on both firearms and ammo. Preferably a week but a month for each purchase after.

^^^ I still cannot find any sane person reading the words I just typed who'd turn that into an all out ban, which it is not.

The vetting should be as ridged for a civilian as it is for police or military.

But that's got nothing to do with vetting.

edit:  Whaddya mean 'now we are getting somewhere'?  I asked you that pages and pages ago.
