However, it sure seems when you observe a dialog between a Trump supporter and someone who dislikes Trump things tend to get very nasty. Not only that, but it seems Trump supporters are easily set off by anyone who does not like Trump. Usually when someone expresses their disdain for this current president the Trump supporter counters with the following: A racist statement about Obama, something about Hillary-or they point out how well the economy is doing and use it as evidence that said person does not love America. Both sides seem fairly touchy, though you’ll like get more of a raise out of people for wearing or showing support for trump around the country, than if you openly showed support for Democratic candidates. And how many lectures where shot down because of speaker expressing view points counter to left wing views? I’ll say the other difference is Trump supporters seem to more likely to be aggressive and violent, were their counterparts need safe spaces.
Democrat is not a synonym for college student.

Eh come one. Every term, every supporter is criticized to hell by the other side. With either repubs or dems screaming, "[insert previous POTUS] was NEVER bashed like this, this is crazy!" And every term we're told that the supporters of the current POTUS are too sensitive to criticism. Trump and his followers are nothing new, in that regard. Obama was raked over the coals. And so was Bush. And on and on.
Nothing new is happening here. We just love to think we're getting screwed, no matter which side we end up being on. Human nature, I suppose. In fact, I have family members who voted for Obama and then Trump. They used the same bullshit defenses for Obama that they do now for Trump. People just want to believe they're supporting the right person, no matter what. Humans get married to their ideas and normally won't admit they're wrong. That would take, like, courage and intellectual honesty.
If you're frightened of dying, and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the Earth.
