Frigging hell. I'll stop moaning now.

Oh, have your moan.  I was lucky.

I've read about that, dread to think about what you must have witnessed. My hot tub story is pretty shit.

Welcome back, Cod! Sorry about your eyes, guys! I was hoping that you had been to a concert, Cod.

BTDT - got the t- shirt.

Even more fun - I once was MIG welding and had my head cocked to one side (learned to never do that again)and had a chunk of slag go in my ear and burn a hole through my left eardrum.

Not only painful - but holy fuckingg LOUD!!!!

It took about a month for it to heal. Lost about 10% hearing in that one.

Hello! Big Grin

Welcome back Cod.

Amazingly glad your hot tub is working well and it's great your eye adventure turned out for the best.

So... as a long time sufferer from myopia I've been wearing contactlenses for pretty much my entire adult life.

I've had a set become so contaminated with calcium deposits (Your tears contain a tad more than just saline) you could see the little nodules inside the plastic.

I've had a spot of rust devlope with said plastic membran (The Optometrist preserved and framed that one. Yup... your tears can even contain cast offs from your blood etc.)

Working in a processing fascility. I've had a drop of oil flic out of the machine, *Blick*, seemingly right into my left eye and I've back away blinking with seeming no ill effects thinking, "Gee. That was lucky." Couple weeks later back to optometrist because of discomfort in the lenses.

Pull them out. Minor caclium build up in/on/with the right lense. A naffy, star shaped 'Splat' pattern right across the left lense.

"Ah. Thre's your problem."

So... Hug realy glad your eye adventure turned out for the best. It could, as you're ware, turned out for thw orst.

Much cheers!

Not at work.

It's a bit sore but I've got some ointment.

Get some lidocaine 5% ointment, apply around the eye, not in it. I've had eleven operations on my right eye and that's all I ever needed. G'luck.

The old lady (88) neighbor has macular degeneration. I'm friends with her son - who told me that they have to give her injections directly in the eyeball.

Try getting an injection of that antibiotic they use after a procedure. One HUGE flash of burning pain and then it's over. Makes me want to check to see if someone just stepped on my balls.
