Unless one wants to mount a trophy, a .45 slug to the head generally ensures one won't get kicked.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

I am not one for killing animals for sport, but if the deer is already down, and you are afraid to confront a downed deer mouse to man, why not shoot it again to put it out of its misery? Last year I got 5 deer. None ran more than 75 yards. Two were DOH. (dead on hoof - i.e. dead before they even fell down). A second shot would be a waste of ammo.
The Gored guy was using a muzzle-loader. Rule #first: reload, then go check.
I don't mess with coal burners.
They simply don't have the kinetic energy available in cartridge guns. Plus they are a pain in the ass to clean.
Easily fixed. Use PETN instead of gunpowder.
And let me know how that works for you.
I' ll stick to SAAMI spec loads and leave the more "adventurous" loads for those looking to pick up a Darwin award.....
