Saturated Fat Controversy

RE: Saturated Fat Controversy
Gae Bolga Wrote:Eating meat isn't a non-sensical tradition, it's a function of omnivorous biology and environmental circumstance, you cretin.
We are not in such an environmental circumstance. And we have hardly ever been. How many people have died because they were hungry and ate a dog's liver, assuming it's less dangerous than eating wild plants?
Gae Bolga Wrote:I only go through with the added expense and time of ethical slaughter for weak stomached consumers like yourself.
Thinking about what you are doing is weak-stomached now? Then, I guess all those soldiers who deserted during the Vukovar Massacre were weak-stomached, rather than doing the right thing.
Gae Bolga Wrote:that anesthesia is better than all that if a person is concerned with how an animal meets it's end.
Anesthesia which has been proven to work. If it hasn't been, as in the case of CO2 poisoning, we can safely assume it's worse than nothing.
Gae Bolga Wrote:I'm not the one pretending that weak willed consumer choices in the first world could help to feed starving third worlders, though...am I?
You said that the solution to the global hunger may be that we give people in less developed countries animals which they will supposedly feed with grass and sell meat, right?
Gae Bolga Wrote:but I also kill an incredible amount of animals..without anesthesia, in order to grow them.
And that's why, the way it's currently done, eating meat doesn't just kill that one animal, it also kills countless animals that were accidentally killed when producing the food for that animal. A few times more than if we were eating plants.
Gae Bolga Wrote:You've already been presented with evidence as to why and how veganism would not only not help, but make matters worse.
What evidence? All you have presented are your wild guesses based on questionable premises. As far as I can see, you haven't cited a single credible source to support your claims. Where are your statistics that show that most of the land that's currently used or pasture can't be used for anything else? I've actually tried to find them on the Internet and I failed. A well-known thing is that the land on which trefoil can grow can generally also support peas.
Gae Bolga Wrote:saying shit like the things you've been posting are idiotic.
I am an idiot? And can you make a YouTube video in Latin, like I can? Can you make a compiler for a simple low-level programming language and implement QuickSort in it, like I can? Can you even make a PacMan game playable on smartphones, like I've done a few years ago? If you can't, then don't call me an idiot.
Gae Bolga Wrote:Which contain both animal products and the most environmentally destructive base materials ever made available to mankind.,,in addition to depending on the most abusive labor practices, in the most competently oppressive regimes in history
Now, a quick search on-line doesn't give me any results about animal products in electronics. As for the environmentally destructive materials, there is a simple solution: recycle. And don't attempt to force people to use solar energy, since solar panels are exceptionally environmentally destructive.
As for the abusive labor practices, it's very unfair to compare people working voluntarily in sweatshops with animal being enslaved in factory farms.

Yes, you're an idiot. Any other questions, lol?

Why do you think that somebody, who can make videos in Latin, and who can make a simple programming language which compiles to Assembly and implement QuickSort in it, is an idiot? Can you do those things?

Now you're just being mean to idiots. There are lots of things that idiots can do that I can't. Idiots can always do something..in your case, that's speaking latin and programming, I suppose?

Neither of those abilities helped you to do basic research on a topic that you knew nothing about, nor did either of those abilities help you to accept factual information about an absurd series of claims you made. Neither of those abilities helps you to maintain a coherent argument, or even understand when you're not.

Well, in order to make those programs, I needed to do quite a lot of research about the topics I knew nothing or nearly nothing about. And you can't say I didn't succeed at that.
Anyway, what do you think about my video about the saturated fat controversy?

Succeeding at one thing is clearly no indication that you'll succeed at another.

I'm sure that you make your own dietary decisions based on some other metric, not effected by being wrong about this set of things...but if you're over there chewing grass because you thought it would help to feed the world...well.....time to end your self imposed exile and order the steak. Speaking of, all this meat talk made me so damned hungry that I went out last night and had a big 20oz slice of aged wagyu.

Maybe they whispered sweet nothings into it's ear before they killed it, but I'm not overly concerned if they didn't. I could barely fucking -move- after that. I had the meat sweats, it was rough.

It's not a guarantee, but it is an indication.

Well, at least I tried. Nevertheless, I think that video I just posted is a real vegan-turner. Thank you, Nina Teicholz, for giving an example as to how stupid anti-veganism can get.

Clearly, it's not an indication at all.

I'm not sure why death porn is the kind of thing you think works for veganism. Most people wouldn't waste their time watching it regardless of how they feel about eating meat. If it were me, I'd stick to the health angle. At least you don't have to go full nutter to make that case.

And the same is true for the YouTube videos "explaining" how environmentally unsustainable veganism is.
Gae Bolga Wrote:If it were me, I'd stick to the health angle.
And it is about health. Nina Teicholz is an idiot who claims nutritional science is not a real science.

RE: Saturated Fat Controversy
A cursory glance shows me that she doesn't say that at all. She points out those times when nutritional science has failed to live up to it's premise.

What can you get right?
