It is possible for humans to say, "I hate conflict, I don't want it, but sometimes it gets to that point."

It's also possible for people to say, 'You can only hammer a shark with a banana on Ash Wednesday.'  People say all manner of stupid things.

It is impossible for anyone of any religion to expect 7 billion humans will magically and suddenly settle  on Jesus, Allah, Yoda, Buddha, Vishnu , Thor, Captain Kirk, Luke Skywalker.

Dafuq's that got to do with anything?

Ike was a hypocrite because he never 'saw' war - he saw the aftermath, certainly, but he had zero actual combat experience.  And I don't believe for a moment that he 'hated' war.
